This week I had such good intentions of making Easter special and doing all the wonderful activities associated with Easter, and then I came down with the flu. Just last week I was thinking how healthy we've been this winter and praised myself for having such great "hand hygeine" :-) and then Trevor and I were slapped with the nasty flu. Of course, Kayla and Ryan walk away once again with nothing. Where do they get such great immune systems? So all the cute pictures of us dying eggs and doing fun things does not exist this year.
As I've reflected this day on the Savior, I am filled with extreme love, gratitude, and awe of his atoning sacrifice. I am blessed to have a knowledge and a testimony of his divine role. The primary children this year are encouraged to memorize the 13 Articles of Faith. They have created charts and get to place a sticker on each one they memorize. We have incorporated this goal in our daily scripture reading by assigning an Article of Faith each month and reciting it every morning. This month, we are on the 3rd Article of Faith. Kayla has been practicing and was ready today to recite it to a member of the primary presidency. I stood by her today, as she perfectly recited it..."We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the gospel." Of course, I am pleased with her desire to have this goal, and as we walked away today the thought came to me..."this is what Easter is all about". Although the eggs, the candy, the basket full of goodies are so fun and exciting to do; in the end it's all about that 3rd Article of Faith. I hope you all have enjoyed this day. Know that we love, miss, and appreciate you all.
