Sometimes we have to learn by experience

You know what I mean! We've all either had to experience something to understand, or we've had to let our children experience life so they could learn. Today was one of those days for Trevor. As a matter of fact, Trevor usually has to experience things in order to understand. He simply cannot take our word for it.
Let me start off by telling you that today's temperature was 17 degrees with on/off freezing rain. Trevor was dead set on going outside to swim. It didn't matter how many times Ryan and I told him that it was too cold to go swimming today, nor the obvious sight of snow/sleet, HE WAS GOING SWIMMING! So he put on his suit. Ryan made one last finally attempt to tell him it was too cold. I finally said, take him outside. Let him go swimming. Ryan laughed, and opened the door to let him out. As you can tell from the picture, he didn't make it off the front porch when he said to Ryan, "It's too cold out here. Carry me." Ryan said, "I'm not carrying you. If you want to go swimming you've got to walk." He then quickly came inside, and we as parents thought he had surrendered to the cold and had realized that it truly was too cold. But as he came in he said, "I need my coat; it's cold outside and I want to go swimming." We then exercised our parental rights, and told him NO! He finally surrendered and went to play with his cars.

Great story and picture. Just think that when you move to California, Trevor can go outside anytime of the year without worrying about getting frost bite. We can't wait to see you.
